Council Meetings

Meetings are usually held in The Meeting Rooms, Church Lane, St. Arvans, Chepstow, NP16 6EU on the second Tuesday of every month with a recess in August. Notice of meetings is given on the Council’s noticeboards and on this website. Meetings start at 7.00 pm with a public session of 15 minutes when, with prior notice to the Clerk, residents can raise matters for consideration by the Council. Sometimes this time is made available to speakers from Monmouthshire County Council or other organisations and the public may be invited to attend. Council business normally follows at 7.15 p.m. From time-to-time Extraordinary Meetings may also be held. Meetings may be held wholly online or in person with remote access and are advertised accordingly. Remote access links are available from the Clerk.

The County Councillor for St Arvans Ward and police representatives are invited to attend meetings and present reports.

The Annual Meeting is held in May. At this meeting, the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected, and Councillors are appointed to Advisory Groups and as representatives on outside bodies.

All minutes are uploaded in draft form and may be subject to change until approval at the following meeting.
