Council Income

The main income of the Community Council is provided by a precept levied on residents in the community. The size of the precept is set by the Community Council before the start of the new financial year. Details of procedures are contained in the Financial Regulations The Council may access some grants for particular projects. For example, there is grant aid being pursued for the improvement of facilities in the King George's Field and Monmouthshire Housing Association granted £600 towards the cost of the bus shelter near the Piercefieldin the past. British Heart Foundation and Chepstow Lions have been extremely generous in supporting our provision of defibrillator access for our residents.

Accounts

The Community Council has accounts with HSBC Bank and the Monmouthshire Building Society. Accounting records are held and updated by the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) and an external Accountancy firm.

Final accounts are presented at year end by the RFO, and subjected to internal audit before presentation to the Council. They are then audited by an external auditor appointed by the Welsh Government. Please click on the appropriate link to see copies of the accounts for previous years.
