Winter Vaccinations

Winter vaccinations are starting to be delivered this month, including flu vaccines and Autumn Covid-19 boosters. Please find below the key information about who is eligible for a free flu vaccine and/or Covid-19 booster this winter and where you can get your vaccine.
Adult flu vaccine
This year eligible adults will be offered a flu vaccine from early October. Flu vaccination is recommended for those who are most at risk of serious complications if they get flu. For adults this includes:
- Everyone aged 65 years and over
- Pregnant women
- Those with certain long-term health conditions
Flu vaccines will be delivered via GP Practices, Pharmacies and our Community Vaccination Clinics.
Covid-19 Autumn Booster
Those eligible for the Covid-19 Autumn Booster include:
- People aged 6 months to 64 years with a long-term health condition (which includes pregnant women and people with a weakened immune system)
- Residents in a care home for older adults
- People aged 65 years and older (age on 31 March 2025)
- Unpaid carers
- Frontline health and social care workers
- Staff working in care homes for older adults
The roll out of the Covid-19 vaccination for eligible groups will start in October delivered via GP Practices, Pharmacies and our Community Vaccination Clinics.
