Devauden Road Closure

Published: 19 June 2026

Upcoming highway maintenance works will require a temporary road closure and the suspension of on-street parking during working hours (8am - 6pm) on Devauden Road, from its junction with the A466 to the 30/20mph speed limit change near Hill Farm. This work will seal the carriageway, restore skid resistance, and extend the serviceable life of the road surface.

Programme of Works

* Patching repairs: 24 June to 26 June 2026
* Surface dressing: 29 June and 2 July 2026

The works will necessitate a full road closure during working hours.

Access and Traffic Management

* The works will commence from the A466 end of the road and progress northwards. As sections are completed, parts of the road will be reopened progressively.

* Resident access will be maintained where possible but will be restricted to essential journeys that cannot be undertaken outside the closure times (for example, medical appointments). Delays should be anticipated due to the nature of the works and movement of plant.

* Emergency services access will be maintained at all times.

* Continuous through access will not be permitted.

*The official diversion route will be via Devauden and Itton along the B4293.

Parking Arrangements

* On-street parking will be suspended during working hours. The Community Council has arranged alternative daytime parking at the far end of The Piercefield Inn car park. Some additional spaces may be available at the Memorial Hall on 26th June and on subsequent dates.

* Residents may park overnight; however, vehicles must be removed before 08:00 each day.

* Vehicles left within the closure will be liable to being towed to a safe location outside of the works area.

Pedestrian Access

* Footway access will remain available via the footways only, although pedestrians may be temporarily held at certain points to
allow plant to operate safely, particularly whilst hot materials are in use.
