Budget and Expenditure
The main income of the Community Council is provided by a precept levied on residents in the community. The size of the precept is set by the Community Council before the start of the new financial year. Details of procedures are contained in the Financial Regulations The Council may access some grants for particular projects. For example, Monmouthshire Housing Association granted £600 towards the cost of the bus shelter near the Piercefield.
The Community Council has accounts with HSBC Bank and the Monmouthshire Building Society. Accounting records are held and updated by the Clerk.
Final accounts are prepared at year end by the clerk, who is also the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO), and subjected to internal audit before presentation to the Council. They are then audited by an external auditor appointed by the Welsh Government. Please click on the appropriate link to see copies of the accounts for previous years.
